About ASCIP

ASCIP “Many Minds…One Vision”
ASCIP membership provides medical professionals advanced learning opportunities and professional networking that enhances your professional interests, as well as those of your patients and their families. ASCIP is a not for profit incorporated association comprised of 4 professional sections:

American Paraplegia Society (APS), Association of Spinal Cord Injury Nurses (ASCIN), Psychologists, Social Workers & Counselors (PSWC) and Therapy Leadership Council (TLC).

Mission Statement
To optimize the health and wellness of individuals with SCI/D through advanced interdisciplinary education, professional development and scientific research.

Governance:

The Governance Board (GB) is responsible for the oversight of all Academy activities and its monies.
The GB is composed of 3 members from each section. The governors are selected by the section boards to a 3 year term and up to 2 consecutive terms.

There are 2 ex-officio members: Editor of JSCM and APC chair.
The Executive Committee includes the President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. These officers are elected from the GB for a 2 year term and up to 2 consecutive terms. The officers do not have to be equally distributed across the sections.

Meetings: Monthly teleconference and face to face at the mid-year meeting and annual conference

The Academy of Spinal Cord Injury Professionals (ASCIP) is an interdisciplinary organization dedicated to advancing the care of people with spinal cord injury/disorder (SCI/D). Please refer to the Academy website at www.academyscipro.org for more information.

ASCIP conference attendees include healthcare professionals representing a variety of specialties involved in the management of spinal cord injury/disorder (SCI/D).  Over 700 professionals attended the 2018 Educational Conference & Expo.
